2013 has officially started. And I have a mountain of stuff ahead of me.

MarlaJan13-05

I’ll be done with my current job, after 6 years of trusty service, on Jan 18th. Bye bye to my colleagues, bye bye to CGD airport. Good riddance of the latter, but the former will be sorely missed (for some, at least).

Before that, on Saturday, we’re picking up our new puppy. Do I sound scared ? Well, I am. Not scared, really. Rather concerned. Plus I’m pissed at the breeder who’s acting like she wouldn’t gimme the time of the day, when I’m about to promote this dog like crazy. Sheesh, I never treated my customers like this when I was in the breeding game…

Whatever. I’m also in the process of selling my NEX 6, trying to anyway, the recession is here full force in Europe and folks ain’t got much budget for entertainment purposes. As soon as the 6 is gone I’ll jump on a 7, but the nice unit I’ve located might be sold by then, bummer.

Which is pretty unrelevant compared to the biggest challenge of the year, live thru “Polemploi”. This is our national unemployment agency, and they are totally lame at what they do. They’re a hindrance mcuh more than any valuable help at all. I need to go thru training to tackle the new career I’ve chosen for myself, and I foresee and lot of arm wrestling with them to go from point A to point B.

So wish me luck. Raising a puppy and making photographs, while enjoying Marla’s unstoppable evolution should make it all bearable, and even thoroughly enjoyable at times. Fingers crossed.

Bonne Annee et Bonne Chance with your new career, and the french pole emploi. I was in CDG last week, and could not help but think you might have been the good angel who helped us to cut the border control waiting line (really, only 3 officers for 3000 people waiting!?) after your 3 years old (and our 4 months old) had a meltdown. Can’t wait for your 2013 pictures.

Thanks Bek, I’m confident we’ll overcome this year’s challenges… one at a time. Starting with the puppy’s arrival, D day-2… The crate won’t be here until later next week, so I have to borrow a smaller Vari Kennel. Oh well, he’ll live šŸ˜‰
