My daughter learned that our horse Joli was very likely to be rehomed. She definitely wanted to see him before his departure (planned on January 9, if all goes smoothly).
Though she doesn’t get to see, or sit on, him very often, a handful of times a year, she was still pretty upset at the thought he would leave
However, no tears were shed, and, as kids will, she left the barn excited at the potential prospect of meeting another horse (she’s deadly set on a foal !) later on. I was glad they got to say good-bye, and I haven’t cried (yet)
